PROJECTS
Some of the latest major projects that I've had the opportunity to deliver.
Latest Projects
Department of Justice: Visualfiles Upgrade Project
Crown Law Tasmania (CLT) uses a product called Visualfiles as a digital repository for case matters, this project was to upgrade that software from version 3.1 to version 4.1. The upgrade also included implementing a new IT infrastructure environment including new Microsoft Server 2016 application and SQL servers and a new Citrix environment to host the solution. To add further complexity a new desktop SOE was also required to run the new Visualfiles client. We were also working to a very tight time-frame to meet a break in the Magistrates Court as to minimise any disruption for staff using the Visualfiles software. The project was successfully able to meet the agreed time-frames and deliver on all primary objectives set out by CLT and the projects steering committee.
University of Tasmania: New Integrated ID Card solution
This engagement with the University of Tasmania involved management of the tender process to select a solution to replace the universities current Staff and Student ID cards. Once a solution was selected I worked closely with the successful vendor to implement a new ID card solution for the University. Key features of the solution were building access (with auditing), Library integration, financial purse functionality, integration into the university printer solution (MyPrint) and a self-service solution for students to print and collect their new ID cards in their own time. The project successfully delivered the student ID solution with the staff side dependant on a side piece of work by their HR department.
Department of Health: Ambulance Tasmania Core IT Network Upgrade
This was a significant project for Ambulance Tasmania that included the full re-design of their core IT network infrastructure, moving them away from a single chassis to a fully redundant stack design. The project was able to successfully deliver the new design, including a hardware replacement of their core networking infrastructure at Ambulance Tasmania’s State Headquarters. A key achievement of the project was to implement the new infrastructure without impacting any of Ambulance Tasmania's core IT systems, including triple zero calls.
